GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo seniors Sydney Hollasch and Megan Pierpoint each qualified for Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Regionals, leading the Knights to a third-place finish on Saturday while the team earned reserve high point team (second place) on Sunday in a pair of home shows at Leg-Up Stables.
In her IHSA debut on Saturday, junior Kate Huppe earned a first-place finish in the beginner walk trot canter while sophomore Maya Garde rode to first place in the walk trot, both as point riders for the Knights. Sophomore Jordan Testa earned a second place finish in the novice fences and first-year Katy Munn placed second in the open flat. Hollasch qualified for IHSA Regionals for the second-consecutive year with a second-place finish in the novice flat, while Pierpoint earned her first trip to IHSA Regionals with a third-place performance in the advanced walk trot canter.
On Sunday, Munn rode to first in the open fences and Garde placed first in the walk trot. Testa, senior Nicole Solazzo and senior Alishah Bhimani each earned second place finishes in the novice fences, advanced walk trot canter and intermediate flat, respectively, as point riders as well.
Geneseo will return to action on Saturday, November 10 when they host their third and final home show of the season at Leg-Up Stables, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
