Six Knights Named SUNYAC Women's Track & Field All-Conference
GENESEO, N.Y. - Six members of the SUNY Geneseo women's track & field team were named to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Conference Team, Tuesday. Junior Keira Wood and first-year Jacquelin Huben were named to the first-team, while juniors Cassie Goodman, Allison Hoh and Elyssa Slawinski joined first-year Sara Rosenzweig landed on the second team.
Wood won the 1,500 championship (4:39.7), to sweep the event for the year as she also won the title during the indoor track & field season in February. She also won the individual title during the SUNYAC Cross Country Championships.
Huben and Rosenzweig finished first and second, respectively, in the steeplechase. Huben bested the field with a time of 11:18.53, just over three seconds ahead of Rosenzweig (11:21.80).
Goodman placed second in the 5,000 meters (17:49.53), while Hoh was the runner-up in the 400 hurdles (1:04.06) and a sixth-place finisher in the 100 hurdles (16.06).
Slawinski placed placed second in the hammer throw (142 feet, 10 inches, 43.53m) after also placing sixth in the shot put (37 feet, 2 1/2, 11.34m) and the discus (121 feet, 8 inches, 37.09m).
The top finisher in every event during the SUNYAC Championships is named a first-team all-conference member, while all the runner-up finishers garner second-team honors.
