PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior goalkeeper Dillon Medd made four saves, but the Knights were held scoreless in a 1-0 loss at State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rival Plattsburgh on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Plattsburgh struck early, netting a goal in the 11th minute of play to take a 1-0 lead.
- Geneseo had several opportunities, outshooting the Cardinals, 10-4, in the second half, including five shots on goal, but could not find the equalizer.
- The Knights outshot the host Cardinals, 13-9, but earned a season-low two corner kicks while conceding three to the hosts.
- The loss snaps a three-game winning streak, Geneseo's longest winning streak since the 2015 campaign when the Knights closed out the year with three consecutive victories.
Geneseo will travel to Buffalo State for another SUNYAC contest on Friday, Sept. 28, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
