Randall Earns National Championship in One-Meter Dive

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - A national championship in the men's one-meter dive highlighted SUNY Geneseo's showing at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted at the Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis University Natatorium. 

SUNY Geneseo senior diver Samuel Randall topped the one-meter diving field to earn the championship at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday evening in Indianapolis. Randall recorded a score of 527.00 to earn his second career diving crown, after also earning an NCAA Championship in the three-meter dive in 2016. Now a six-time All-American, he is just the fourth Geneseo student-athlete to win multiple national championships joining track and field athletes Kim DePrez '03, Alexa Wandy '17 and Isaac Garcia-Cassani '18. Randall also earned an All-America sixth-place finish in the three-meter dive earlier in the week, turning in a 500.45 score. 

SUNY Geneseo sophomore diver Samantha Reichman finished 11th in the one-meter dive and 13th in the three-meter to earn a pair of All-America Honorable Mentions. Reichman finished 16th in the one-meter dive preliminaries (385.50) to qualify for the consolation finals, where she turned in a score of 411.00, the third-highest score in the flight. In the three-meter, Reichman finished 12th (439.25) in the prelims and 13th (445.25) in the consolation finals.

Senior Emily Reiter competed in both diving events as well, finishing 28th in both the one-meter (334.50) and three-meter (361.65).Junior Nancy Nasky  took 18th place in the 1650 Free, touching up in 17:17.73 to cap her weekend at the NCAA Championships. The men's 200 free relay team, made up by seniors Jeff Doser and Derek Secord and first-years Harry Harkins and Will Eng, placed 20th with a time of 1:23.28 to finish with four top-20 finishes. Seniors Kaitlin Doherty and Natalie LaCourt joined first-years Deidra Osula and Noelle Staso to take 28th in the 200 Medley Relay (1:47.71), 27th in the 400 free relay (3:31.75) and 25th in the 800 free relay (7:53.92).
