Women's Basketball Reaches New Heights In Final Polls Of The Year

GENESEO, N.Y. - Earning its highest national ranking in over 20 years, the SUNY Geneseo Women's Basketball team was selected 13th in the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) NCAA Division III Top 25 poll and 14th in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, both released this week.

The team had risen to as high as 16th in the D3hoops.com poll and 15th in the WBCA poll earlier in the season, but finished the year with its highest ranking since the 1994-95 campaign.

The Knights completed the regular season with an unblemished record (25-0) for just the second time in program history on their way to a program-record 28 wins and an NCAA Tournament Round of 16 berth, their second in three years.

Geneseo earned NCAA Tournament victories over Muhlenberg, 65-53, in the first round and Rochester, 78-72, in the second round in two games played at Schrader Gymnasium before ultimately falling at Ohio Northern, 72-55, in the round of 16.
