Women's Basketball Earns Road Victory at William Smith, 68-54

GENEVA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior guard Natalie Alfieri led all scorers with 16 points to lead the Knights to an away victory over the Herons, 68-54, Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Knights started the game on 15-6 run, closing out the the first quarter with a 20-11 lead.
  • Geneseo held the Herons scoreless for the first four minutes of the second quarter, going into halftime with a 43-24 lead.
  • The Herons surged back in the third quarter outscoring the Knights 14-10, cutting the lead to 53-38.
  • Geneseo held on to their lead in the fourth, ending the game 68-54.

QUICK FACTS

  • First-year forward Lauren Romito tallied her first collegiate double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds and added five blocks. 
  • The Knights shot 24-for-52 (46.2%) while holding William Smith to just 17-for-66 (25.4%) shooting.
  • Junior guard Lindsay Halpin netted 14 points while senior guard Sara Ciotti dished a game-high six assists.
