GENESEO, N.Y. - Four members of the SUNY Geneseo women's tennis team were named State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) all-stars on Wednesday. First-year Natalia Krol and senior Vanessa Lam-Tran earned second-team honors for doubles while first-year Julianna Schulz and senior Nina Lurie each garnered second-team selections in singles.
Krol and Lam-Tran played together in doubles for eight matches, including victories at ITA Regionals and at the Swarthmore Invitational. Krol also earned a pair of doubles victories in conference play, against Oswego, 8-0, alongside fellow first-year Ana Amorim Da Silva Gusmini, and opposite Cortland, 8-0, partnered with Lurie. Lam-Tran now has five all-conference honors after being selected as a SUNYAC all-star in both singles and doubles each of the last two seasons.
Schulz was a versatile member of the Geneseo lineup, playing at five different flights over the course of the season. Schulz finished 8-3 in singles play this season, going 5-1 in regular season dual matches.
Lurie earned her second all-conference selection after she posted a 3-2 record in dual match singles play, including a straight-set victory at fifth singles in the Knights' SUNYAC semifinal loss to Oneonta, 5-1.
