GENESEO, N.Y. – Seven members of the SUNY Geneseo women's cross country team were named all-conference by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) after leading the Knights to their fifth-straight title, Saturday, at Plattsburgh.
Junior Sara Rosenzweig, the individual champion, first-year Olivia Ryan and senior Jacquie Huben landed first-team honors as Ryan was named SUNYAC Rookie of the Year after recording the top finish by a first-year. Rosenzweig and Ryan were also inducted into the SUNYAC Cross Country Hall of Fame, which requires that a runner must finish in the top 5 once, top 10 twice, or top 15 three times.
Rosenzweig covered the six-kilometer course in 21:48.6, besting the field by over 10 seconds. Ryan finished third (22:04.3) followed by Huben in fifth (22:11.6) and Hughes in seventh (22:14.0). Ramirez took 10th place (22:25.3), Homeyer was 11th (22:26.8) and Chen came in 13th (22:30.8).
The Knights will next run in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regionals on Saturday, Nov. 14, hosted by Geneseo at Letchworth State Park.
